Dealer or no Dealer

Featured Replies

Hi all, i have to replace my rear coil springs on my 1.9 tdi elegance and my rear suspension bushes the question is do i go to the dealer to buy these or go to my locan motor factors, price of springs from dealer is £72, my local factors can get them for £27 so what do use think, cheers.

neither to be honest - try TPS, or failing that try a breaker or Eurocarparts/GSF

Factors, and see what you can get as uprated for the same price as standard from Stealer... Im sure others will offer advice on coil overs etc....

is tps not trade only

In theory, but most with serve us mere mortals too

Sadly the miserable TPS outlet in Yeovil has refused to serve me multiple times :-(

Usually not OEM parts at all, from motor factors other than TPS.

We sell many parts such as Pagid Brake Pads, Sachs Springs or Textar Discs which are fitted on the original vehicle! The same part, different box and half the price :-)

I wouldn't go to a breaker, no point outing old springs on!

Go to the local motor factor and save being ripped off by the dealer.

I must admit, 2nd hand shocks or springs are an absolute no-no, in my book. You can't really evaluate the condition until you've let them settle for a while anyway.
