how well would a Remap be on a 1.4tdi fabia 2 80bhp version

Featured Replies

hey was thinking about getting my 1.4tdi fabia 2 remapped just wondering if it can be done and if it is worth it? and how much it would cost and on avarage hoe much better the performance would be?

many thanks

steven

I don't know much about the 1.4tdi. Is it CR or PD engine?

I would have thought on a stage 1 map you'd be looking for +/- 25bhp or so??

Pretty sure these are a PD.

And as above I think about 100-105 bhp is realistic from a remap. Plus probably about 80nm of extra torque perhaps.

so it would be worth paying out for one then? any ideas how much roughly it would be?

IMHO a remap is worth it.

I had my fabia mapped years ago, and subsequently mapped again when the turbo was replaced.

I've also had my PD105 Roomster remapped. The mapping on the Roomster was not about peak power output, (honest :giggle) but more punch in the midrange and a smoother drive.

Pricewise, this will vary between tuners. Check some of their websites for details and reviews on here. Keep an eye out for any group buys which always make the prices more attractive.

From memory I think i paid Shark +/- £170 for the Roomster remap as part of a very generous group buy run by Ben

Maybe go for a Superchips Bluefin or a Shark STS switchable remap units and have (almost) the best of both worlds

but isn't the bluefin like £400+ how much is the STS?

Check with your insurance. With smaller engined cars the insurance increase can make the total premium more than for a larger engined car.

Hi Steven,

Just had my 80 remapped this afternoon.

It's like a different car.,it pulls from 2 to 3 so much quicker and smoother than before.

I would recommend it!

Hey Thanks did you have to do anything else to the car for the remap? and were did you go and how much did you pay? sorry for questions just trying to work it all out lol

thanks again

Nothing else was done to the car.

It depends on exact engine model and ECU model as to how much it costs, but between £225 and £275.

It was done by a guy in north yorks - other end of the country from you.
