Where is best place to go for a stage 2 map?

Featured Replies

Ok my guess is that this question has been asked many times before so my apologies for bringing it up again.

Where should I take my Fabia for a stage 2 tune? I have been doing web research on this for weeks and still cant decide >< This is my 1st ever project and never even had a re-map car before lol. I just want to get it mapped and GOOO fasttt already grr.

Taking to long to decide where to get the map is just frustrating now. Best things come to those who wait I spose! (Or pay)

I live in Manchester, distance is not really a problem as long as its not south off Birmingham or almost near Scotland.

Now I know many love Shark maps on here but they are asking £100 extra then other good tuning centres so I wont be going Sharks. Think they ask £500 stage 2.

P-torque are meant to be good, not sure on there price

Rs tunning, not %100 sure on there price but think maybe £450

R-Tech ive no clue about.

JBS are cheap but ive read mixed reviews about them.

Darkside devlopments are meant to be good.

Oscarli (Richard washbrook) This is new one to me and just know he was Revo tech maneger at one time. (No clue on price)

Anyone know about Mas Performance in N/Yorkshire?

So I am spoiled for choice and cant decide ><. Anyone used one off these tuners for a stage 2 map on a Fabia pd 150 hybrid? (Wanting to get 225 bhp, 348 torque)

Any other suggestion on recommended tuners are welcome (Just to confuse me even more :)

Thx for any info/help

If you are buying on price, then why not simply go for the cheapest?

I'm not buying on price, I just don't know some off the prices. If I can get a map just as good as sharks for £50 cheaper then I will do that. I assume me saying I will not go to sharks is why you made that comment.

Jabbasport have an excellent reputation and will tailor the car to your driving requirements - been in busy for an eternity and are our site sponsors!

My 2nd choice would be Richard/ OScarli but he doesn't deal directly with the public now.

I know of no other ECU recalibration experts in the UK that could optimise fully stage 2.

Maps - you pay for what you get !!!

Sorry, was being a bit flippant, I guess my point is, if you decide what your criteria is - best quality or best price then go with what gives you the most return. If you're going to spend £300-£400 on a remap, then why not £500? As John says, you get what you pay for!

Its ok, words can be taken out off context and I was not offended in anyway. But yeah I see your point. Its just am so skint at the moment and would need to lend £50 off a friend if I decided to go sharks. Spent over 2k on bits & bobs for this project already & thats in just 3 weeks :), After market products are just sooooo addictive :p

wait and save up it's worth the difference!

Hi, don't waste the 2k you spent on the hardware with a generic+ map

As i said before there are very few companies able to optimise fully to stage 2

There is an interesting post in the general car chat section - Considering a remap; Read this first!

Best wishes

As someone thats had everything from Superchips, JabbaSport, multiple Revo remaps etc etc on their cars over the last few years, I can say with total confidence that the quality of the Shark map is superior. Irrelevant of a few extra £ I probably wouldnt go anywhere else in the future. Its the only map Ive ever had that literally has no downside to it. It feels like the standard factory car has been fed steroids ie it retains its factory qualities but a whole lot more besides.

Imo Shark also provide by far the best support ive experienced. Ben was more than happy to go over the subject of remapping in great detail and answered all the questions I had. Unlike other big players I spoke to, they didnt try to make out it was some sort of black magic and shroud it in mystery. They also didnt lie or try to cover up how certain things were achieved in the remapping process. Out of the 'others' JabbaSport were also a great all round company to deal with. :)

There is absolutely nothing "generic" about our custom remaps, this car was tuned by Mikko on the dyno as I'm sure the customer will verify.

If you personally have a problem with our maps or services (which it is pretty evident that you do), then I invite you to telephone us or indeed visit us at one of the many trade shows we exhibit at every year around the country to discuss it. GTI International is our next show if that helps.

In the meantime may I suggest you stop attempting to scare our potential and existing customers off by referring to an old propaganda thread, that was written without the customers' consent by one of our competitors, which is an absolute non-issue for anyone but yourself (including the customer in question). We're not the kind of company to go around slagging others off, but if you'd like to hear a few stories of us fixing cars and maps from various competitors, and what actually goes on inside an ECU map, then we'd be happy to actually show you and explain every detail to you if you'd like.

The comment I made did not mention your company. I have no experience of your company directly or indirectly and so have no experience to 'judge' by. A comment has been made that has not been responded to - I cannot understand why you call that post "propaganda".

I would appreciate it if personal messages were not sent to me but posted in open forum.

I sent you a PM to discuss your bad feeling towards us. A PM is exactly that - private, a conversation between you and I. You have eluded to a response being required to something and I have asked for you to clarify via PM. I'm sure we can deal with this professionally.

I have no bad feeling towards you whatsoever!

I am curious regarding the post in another sub forum area

I am referring to post #10

And could you please clarify exactly what about post #10 you'd like me to take action with? Jesus, this is like getting blood from a stone!

post #10 clearly stated:

Hmm, not sure where my last post went.

If you'd like to discuss it further, please contact us.

I would be happy to discuss it here

I wouldnt suggest 'here' is the best place! Back on topic perhaps.... :)

With all due respect I think Ben/ shark_90 can respond for himself

MY topic is closed. What made you reply to this forum when I have already been for my map johny? If its for others who are thinking off a map then I understand.

I am not sure if johnys comment was meant to be directed at Sharks so I will mostly stay out off the debate. As for Sharks and there maps, well it look like a custom map to me while I waited and watch my car on the Dyno as Mikko did his thing.

Sharks was also very helpful when my car broke down outside Sharks depot and they even had 1 guy install my drive shaft way past there closing times at 5.30. Think he was there till way past 6pm doing my car. Poor guy.

I never expected that but was very grateful.

Mikko always answered any questions I had about my map, he was a bit off the quite type but I guess he was busy concentrating.

Ben I had read your Seat forum post issue a long time before I came to you for my map & in your defence you did not deserve that kinda propaganda trick. I read everything on that issue & you defended your self well.

It did not stop me coming to you.

Ben is a good guy! And i havent used shark for a remap before but all i hear is glowing reports

A lot of stuff on the interweb is hearsay nonesense, go to any mapper and you can pretty much guage for yourself if they have much idea
