Finally collecting my car.

Just to check it will come with free insurance for the first 7 days? This is according to all my friends who collected car in the past year.

Or they are now having new policies?

When I collected my new Superb the dealer supplied a card with all the required details (Registration number, dealer ID etc.) so the insurance can be arranged very simply. The cover note is then sent to the dealer so they can tax the car etc.

I am surprised your dealer hasn't given you the details you require. I'm sure a quick call will do the trick.

You need the delaer code from your delaer to provide to Skoda Insurance Services when you call them. I've used it in the past and it's a good service and very easy to use - the only real downside is if, god forbid, you have a bump within that period and need to claim the excess is high, usually £500. Beware!

It may also be worth having all engine details to hand (bhp mainly) as sometimes the car doesn't always show on the insurance system.

Will take you 10 mins or so and it's free............. just don't bump the car - as mentioned by Chubbs.

Agree mine would not show (140 L&K) they said that it had to be a 170, so they just said it was a 140 Elegance.
