Well the Fabia is now at my parents house awaiting some love. The front end is off & its up on axle stands with no wheels on.

Can you guess what it is yet???

Front mount IC ??

Really needs to be a v8 transplant!

Nope - I've ordered a FMIC along with some pipework to get a custom one mounted just under the crash bar. its wide, thin, but deep - litreage is double to std core volume. Foglights have to come out for pipe work to fit - awaiting the pipe from Forge to mount the sensor in before starting on mounting it.

Front Catch tank - the mount goes under the p/s headlight and all pipe work fits under the std engine cover with 1 mod

The wheels are off for a refurb. Decided on a colour, but not showing until they are back on.

The Interior is out - as are the seats and the carpets to upgrade the front speakers to components off 2 2x channel Alpine Amps. Already brown breaded the doors so no rattles (other than the rear number plate in its holder!

Where are you getting your wheels done? Perth Powdercoat?

Its been 2 weeks since I started this thread. A few things have been done recently to the VRS. Plans have had to be changed due to a total lack of help from a supplier for my FMIC and it never showing up with all the parts etc.

So here is where we are now.

Just had a new exhaust built for my by Stainless Creations in Falkirk - £320. Was just going for a mufflerectomy. But due to the condition of the rest of the system it was decided just to go the whole hog!

Then after speaking to a couple of local guys about where to get my rims sorted I ended up getting the wheels off the car and upto Perth Powdercoat, where the diagnosis was the original paint was left to harden too long before the clear powdercoat/lacquer had been put over the top. Meaning it had nothing to hold onto = very badly flaking lacquer lift on the rims. After discussing colour options I was torn between Chrome effect silver, or something a bit more subtle. The powder had to be ordered in for a customer previously and he said he had enough left to do 1 last set of wheels (woohoo!) They are now finished in a Lamborghini-based Hyper-Grey Metallic. which has similar metallic bits in it to the original black bodywork. But with a weird effect that the grey can look lighter or darker depending on how you look at it.

The chrome centre caps were knackered as well - £35 for a new set?? Na - rubbed down and painted satin black - much more subtle

Then I had removed the front bumper, crash bar, headlights, foglights etc in antisipation of fittind the FMIC, but the cooler was dented and pipes missing - so ended up sent back for a full refund! So decided to stick with what I have for the time being, but fix a few things that have been bugging me.

Foglight on d/s is full of condensation. Cleaned dried and seal renewed in wd40 and glump mix (my dad has it from working offshort its come kind of waxy grease they use for making seals swell!) new LED foglight bulbs fitted along with holes drilled in the housing and sealed to fit DRL'S in them.

D/s wheel arch lining removed and vented along with the front bunmper alignment done better

And finally a wash and wax

newpictures18thmay083.jpg

I'll also renew the air filter, oil getting done on tuesday & i've binned the pd160 inlet and replaced it with a flexi hose. Sounds much meatier and definately has a bit more get up and go to it also!

Awesome stuff! love the wheels and colour

The wheels look great! Think that colour is pretty much what mine are, and I need to get mine refurbished at some point.

chance of a picture of your PD160 replacement? been thinking about my own version of this mod for a while...

Looks great mate!

Whats that you say? Pikey mod == Win? ;)

And there were people saying my airbox idea was rubbish hahaha!

But great work! And those wheels are gorgeous. And now you've given me ideas for the Montreal 2's i've got in the garage. ;)
