Feeler for my LCR Brembos - Fabia 1

Featured Replies

Quick feeler for my Brembo front brake setup as it stands. Kit will include

2 x Brembo calipers in red

2 pairs Ferrodo DS2500 brake pads - 50% worn (estimate)

1 pair Mintex Extreme grooved discs - 50% worn (estimate)

Hoses and brackets/hangers to match

The front calipers could do with stripping and repainting, from a visual / impact point of view. Could potentially go a different colour due to this - black perhaps?

As a guide on price, I would be after somewhere i.r.o £400 all-in for the complete kit. Pics to follow

As for timing, it will be a while as until I have a buyer, I won't be looking into their replacements. Obviously from a wheels POV, you will need 17s, and potentially also need front wheel spacers of some degree. :)

why you changing jason??

PM'd :)

will these fit a mk1 octy with spiders on

yes with 5mm spacers

I thought might need 15mm? Never tried myself so not sure. Anyway, changing as fancy getting the 8 pot K Sport ones, but obviously it would be nice when shelling out £800+ that I can at least get some money back (or the promise of) for my old brakes. :)

Ouch. Just checked and its £899 for the brakes and £240 extra for DS2500 pads! Oooh dear lol.

yeah not cheap when you add pads and not meant to be that much better !!!

i was going to get the 330 with sport frition pads but thats 1200

so going to finish the ds2500 in my brembos then upgrade the pads to the sport friction pads and run a lighter 2 piece disc ;-)

Gone gone and bought 312's last night :(

A good value upgrade from 288s. This is for those that want to go the next step and understand the commitments needed to use them. :)

Hmm true :) I was thinking about brembo's though even though that a massive jump, but got the 312's for a deal  These will get snapped up nicely! GLWTS :)

Looking at Ebay I might have under-priced them. A pair of calipers & carriers only going for £450 on there. No discs/pads.

Hence why I'm so gutted because of your price! There are some going for £600+

I have some 18" GTi monza's potentially going on my car so wanted some beefier brakes to go behind them.. But I may stick with my standard alloys for a while longer.. Just had them refurbed anyway..

Yup spiders need a 5mm spacer but even then there is only mm's of room, wouldnt want a bit of grit getting in there lol.

GLWS Jase, these are ace brakes. I have them/will be putting them back on my Octavia. The 312mm stuff is spot on for the Fabia lol. The 288's were shocking and the feel was worse! no confidance at all.

I got my LCR brembos for £420 for everything but the lines which are a fair amount so prob £500 for everything in good nick.

Hopefully should be OK in the end. Just hoping somewhere can get the KSports in, in less than three months from point of payment. Can't believe in this day and age it takes that long to get anything from anywhere in the world. :(

jason buy direct from ksport ;-)

Get some pictures up buddy as I will be very interested to get my project on the move, and with the power it's going I will need something's like these :)

Just took some in the rain. :D Not the best, but shows how they are (in dirty state) on my car, behind my superlegs.

Driver side (muckier as I think I washed left hand one when refitting the superlegs, but forgot to do this one :D)

I do but I think its merely the angle I am holding the phone as I rushed the shots due to the rain.

Anyway, "provisionally" the kit is actually already sold, but I am awaiting more details and I won't know more until I know how I can get hold of the KSports.

Ok bud no worries

I thought the K-Sports delivery time was all down to the times the boat went? You can pay more and have them flown over.

Yeah - £120! :o I didn't think that sending a set of brakes would cost that much by air, and its still 30 days to wait anyway.....

Will be interesting to see how you think the brakes compare.

Would be handy to know if there is more spoke clearence on the K sports too as I have to run front spacers.

On my Brembos (and uprated rears) 70mph to 0mph takes 50 metres and 3.2 seconds.
