Monte Carlo is Sick after 2Months! Please read!

Featured Replies

I'm thinking about lowering, but at the minute the car is in the garage as its two months old and it's pulling to the left badly. Skoda have sent reports off and still waiting for word. This is the third time they have tried to fix it. Took wheel alinements and there all ok, changed alloys/wheels still no difference. There running out of ideas what it could be at my local dealer /:

The man in the Skoda garage said it could be a fault, love the wee car has so much potential just want it back fixed! Thoughts anyone?

Has the car had a fully four wheel laser check or just a front wheel alignment check?

Have you hit any large pot holes or kerbs recently or has it always pulled to the left?

Always pulled to the left, but it started to get worse. The local dealer has checked wheel alinements and laser check. Waiting for them to ring me back. Have not hit any pot holes or nothing. Me and the local dealer are scratching heads because we don't know what the problem is and skoda are taking their time to get back to us.

I'm assuming they've checked for a sticky brake?

Mine did this from new (June 2011) and I posted about it at the time, I decided not to go through the pain of multiple dealer attempts at a fix as no one had had success with this. I lived with it last summer and autumn before fitting my winter wheels & tyres. After fitting the new tyres, 195 wide on 15” Skoda steel rims , it was much much better and for some reason after putting the 17” rims back on in the spring its also less of an issue, all I can suggest is you try moving wheels around (restricted if directional) or if desperate try alternative tyres. Good luck .

Did also occured on my Octavia, the dealer put new wheels on for testing and the issue went away.

Next step, changing wheels from one side to another ( the tires aren´t one way rotation), had mixed results.

Then each tire was rotaded 45% on the rim and the 90%.

Result, have 44000km on tires, the front are gone soon the rear ones have another 10000km. Did change front to back at 20km.
