Vrs TDI Odd Lift Off Acceleration Behaviour

Featured Replies

Hi guys, was sitting in the car waiting on the wife getting the shopping, I was messing around and noticed that if I pressed on the accelerator pedal very slightly and let off quickly the engine would nearly stall, it on,y happens when the pedal is pressed just as the revs start to climb. I have also noticed that as the rev begin to climb they jump up quite quick then become more linear to the angle of the pedal if that makes sense, very twitchy to pull away and stuff because of this. All this is between idle revs and about 1100rpm.

Is something wrong with the fuel or timing?

Electronic pedals are a bit finicky like that, is it a cr or pd?

My Leon FR does this, same engine and at my last service the dealer stated that it was ver common with the PD engine.

Total running time was maybe ten mins, 2 mins was driving to the shop.

Looks like not the only one, I can also hear a air puffing sort of noise on idle when my head is under the bonnet.
