Superb 2.0TDi compared to Superb2 2.0TDi, oil pump

Featured Replies

Hi< I have read that the 2.0 Tdi PD engine in the Superb II is a different engine to that in the PD engine in the mark 1 so doesn't suffer from the oil pump isues that plagued the Mark 1, Is this correct? is the new Superb II PD a good bet or is the oil pump still an issue?

Cheers all

The oil pump drive issue that plagued the MK1 is NOT an issue at all on the MK2 as its driven in a totally different manner.

I had a 2008 2.0 PD140 DSG DPF and ran it for 2 years with no problems including 2 trips to the Costa Del Sol and back.

The MKI oil pump issue might not be introduced in the newer version of the MKII, though still, according to my sources, these cars are still seen more frequently with problems/issues at the workshop, than the CR engines.

Could you elaborate on what these more frequently problems/issues are please as the PD is more likely the engine I will have to look at due to available funds. cheers
