TMC Tuning Box and Using 95Ron Unleaded

Featured Replies

Wanted to ask this question as I will be going away to Ireland and taking the car. As there is no super unleaded available in the republic do you think I will be ok running the car on standard without the need to remove the box?

Fill the car to the brim before you cross

And get yourself to halfords and buy some of that octane fuel booster stuff you can get and stick it in when you do have to drop to 95 ron

you can turn it down so it doesn't increase performance, in effect its like it isnt installed

Dont worry i run tuning box on setting 7 and run ron 95 as i have never had access to ron 97+ and its still perfect

you will be fine. turn it down to 0 if you are overly concerened.

And don't use additives, they are just a ripoff!

Remedy

You lend it to me until you get back :happy:

Not sure if your car can run on E5 with your tuning box

We're all running on E5, maybe even upto E7. The use of bio material in gasoline (ethanol) and diesel (FAME) has been mandatory since 2008, with the percentage increasing each year. If the European Parliament has its way we will all be on 20% bio fuel by 2020, if not before.

Thanks for all the replies. I've now got a few ideas might even try the Maxol fuel, I'm Preston334 think we've discussed this before on here and you were helpful then but unfortunately I'm going down to the south coast. I will brim it in North Wales before the ferry journey. Ha ha Chris what you gonna lend me to go in then?

you could always put an octane booster n the tank (sorry if this has been mantioned, not read the thread)
