What age is everybody?

Featured Replies

yeah bro will put you up for the night you can show me the drifting way ;-)

You'll get addicted and want one!

Just set my mate a challenge for next years ODC (open drift championship) so if he takes the bait we'll be competing, you'll have to drag yourself up here then! :)

;-)

I'm 47.

Our Octy is mainly the Mrs car. I have owned an Austin Maxi, 2 Cortinas, a Trimph Acclaim, A R5 GT turbo, 2 (old type) Ibizas,an MG Maestro, a Rover 420 gsi turbo, & for the last 15 years (& it's still going strong) a Rover 220 gsi turbo.

I also had a an Impreza wrx sti for 6 months a couple of years back.

The car I did most mileage on was the Maestro, & it was a great car, very reliable indeed & lovely to drive. The R5 gt turbo was the best to drive out of all the above.

I'm 19. My daily driver is a -00 Fabia Classic. Had a -89 Ford Probe GT before that.

2002 Octavia Laurin & Klement (or however the hell you spell it). Poor car had a close contact encounter with a moose. Its getting stripped and the parts are going to two different cars. One rear ended while the other had an engine fire. Both are getting saved by this noble Octavia's sacrifice. Oh and I'm probably gonna steal the seats for my Fab.

Wrecked or not, its still an Octy and now I'm qualified to post on the Octy forums, hehe.

Told you not to tell everyone I'm gay!.....was our secret!

Yes mate deffo, just sent the diff off to be welded so as soon as its in and my seat and hydro are sorted I'll have a skid down :)

drifting, thats def g&y Si, isnt it for people who cant drive round a track properly??

;>

I'm 39 and 'fall over the hill' (turn 40) in July.... so I'm only just hanging onto my sanity!

I have owned many VAGs before this, including 3 x Golfs Mk IVs and 2 Boras and a Passatt ..... every single one of them with the PD130 TDI engine, so my current Octavia Mk1 VRS is both my first Skoda VAG, and first petrol.

Impressed and having a lot of fun, especially since the remap, and moreso since curing a nasty hesitation/stutter, by replacing my MAF and cleaning my Throttle Body today

Cheers, and hope my spelling was acceptable to those monitoring, and that my participation in this thread wasn't too homosexual ;)

I'll probably be one of the youngest.. I'm 19 :) first skoda is a fabia 1.2 HTP. Had two fiats prior to the fabia and will never turn back. Next car will either be a mk1 fabia vrs or a mk2 Octavia vrs.

so very very g&y

surely this should be in the general forum area and not in the non g&y octavia area?

I'd say this forum is very helpful, i distinctly remember helping you quite a lot in a thread last night about suspension along with several other members!

this thread is the same kind of thread as 'how much fuel can i get for £20' and 'can i get away without telling my insurer i have a remap'...sorry just shows your age i guess!

Calling threads gay - Sorry Just shows your age I guess!

I didn't realise that at 33 you must've reached the height of maturity to be able to judge other peoples threads in a pre-judgemental way. I had a genuine reason for writing the fuel to £20 question - was a genuine question that I wanted to know, not related to my age, this is an internet forum where people are free to ask questions regardless of their age. And by the way - Im 28 - and I asked that question - can you believe it!!?!??!

Let me guess - you were never 18 and wanted to know things or is that too much of a pre-assumption, or did you just happen to know everything straight away?

Please enlighten us how you were born with all your knowledge and pre-determined methods of judging individuals abilty to ask questions in forum threads.

Anyway.. :)

I'm 38 but tell everyone I'm 25 at each birthday. No-one seems to believe me, must be the white hairs.

lol...irony somewhat missed!

it a was a tongue in cheek repsonse to another post that wouldnt be out of place in the general forum.

I guess the amount of technical posts i have made, and the time i have been on here, alongside the amount of members who know me on here allows me to take the P*ss once in a while in my posts.

Helping out other people, all very well and good, but when you think it gives you a right to take the p155 out of others - a bit out of order IMO. Its basically turning from helpful to arrogant

Someone in need of a doobie me thinks :)

In all seriousness tho, a bit of lighthearted banter and the odd p155 taking comment doesn't do any harm does it? That's what forums are all about I thought? There are the serious posts were people can help if possible then there are the more humorous ones.

It'd be a bit of a dark place if it was all serious I'm sure, if people can't take the odd comment on the chin and find the funny side then that's sad IMO!

For example: ive just signed up to a forum (drift related) and my god, say the wrong thing on there and your shot down in **** :) all lighthearted banter but that's how they are. Just give as good as you get!

i know, bless him, i think i hurt his feelings...

sorry

Omg Whats going on with the fórum of late !!!!

The thing is, a bit banter is cool but some of the 'irony' on this thread isn't ironic or even funny that I can see..... there's this thing where if anyone challenges a 'funny' post, like calling a thread that someone else started 'gay', they're automatically assumed to be boring, dull, old, or humour-less.

I absolutely love humour, I'm obsessed with good quality humour on TV and film, I love a laugh with the boys, and I love a laugh on the 3 or 4 forums I visit....... but the 'humour' under discussion here, just ain't funny guys. Simple as! ...... (bless, hope that didn't upset you ;))...

@ Oet, I don't know you and haven't benefitted from your help on here yet, but you're probably a damn fine dude :) .... but your contribution to this thread (especially the early part of it) I would suggest hasn't been your finest hour. Not because I'm boring or humour-less but because your 'irony' just hasn't come across as the 'funny irony' that humour is formed from.

But above all ............ peace to all men! (and women ;))..

i agree with the above statement, tho i have also learnt not to take anything to seriously to heart on here. Especially not from Oet. lol

its a car forum at the end of the day. Compared to most others out there its a very good 1. This is the most welcoming forum i ever been on and 99.999999% of people can take the pace on here. Give as good as you get i think. I got no beef with no one on here tho on occasion i do think some people can be a willy. everydays a school day. Until i get death threats or someone starting on me at a meet, i will continue to just add to the banter.

I must admit ive found most briskies friendly ?!?!?

Have i been ****ed off at anypoint ??? Yes

But in all the years ive been on here ive only had choice words with 1 or 2

That said i tend not to care much these days.. :)

I wouldnt ever start a count of hands of those who think im a **** tho :D but hey ho whatcha gona do ?!?!?

Im sure theres another group that find me sound ............... maybe

Seriuosly tho bud, dont worry about it, if you get someone upset you just slip a simple " **** off " into the post and move past it :)

Posts are soon forgotten

perhaps your humour is not as dark as mine....

this is a public forum, it takes all sorts after all

and lets face it, in terms of tuning we are scraping the barrel being bottom of the vag rung;>

I try to balance my sarcasm with lots of technical posts, as my post count/history will show, and there are lots of members who i am sure would vouch for this.

Frankly this forum is way too polite, i mean we can't even swear....you should see some of the other vag forums, lets say this is rather well behaved in comparison.

Funny how skoda drivers get so touchy, when the golf/seat/audi and aircooled forums i belong to use banter as an everyday occurance.

Anyway, 'gay' is not a serious insult, lets face it, gay/straight or trans, who gives a ****, its just playground humour with no actual basis or malice behind it.

Alright girls

This isn't the fabia forum lets keep it civil ....

Wheres that mountain located, pass the rizla !!!

apparently it is dude,

i only swore once, that is civil for me!

promise i will be good!

fix your gearbox?

All done, back on the road

nice! quick turnaround!!! you shoehorn in a diff then?
