My Dad's Audi A3 seems to have got a little confused. He had the car set to fixed interval servicing by the local Audi dealer at it's first service, however recently he noticed recently that the multifunction display was reading 300miles and 365 days to service.

He had it serviced by an independant garage about two weeks ago (family friend but doesn't have VCDS) and they reset the service indicator but when I plugged my shiny new VCDS cable in and checked the service interval data it says that it wants the next service in 9,600 miles (this agrees with the mileage he has done since the service) or 730 days! It seems to be stuck in a mixture of fixed and variable servicing mode.

I presume I can just change it to fixed servicing and adjust the time and mileage to match what he has done since it was last serviced and leave the proper 10k/1 year service interval.

I can only think that the dealer somehow messed up when they changed it. Fortunately my dad has managed to do pretty much 10k a year since he got the car so it has actually been serviced correctly.
