Thought i would start up a journal of my brown 1.6 glxi.

Had the car since november 2011 so far i havent done much to her in regards to modding. Fitted my headunit & thats about all.

Fitted new standard front brakes & a service is about as far as ive got.

Plans in the near future, colour code the front grill, possibly remove sidestrips & lower her. The car is brown so i doubt i will find a spoiler in the right colour.

Well i was planning on colour coding the grill yesterday but halfords cant match my paint :( what are peoples thoughts on matt black for the grill? I may smooth off the grill where the badge sits and then paint it. What are peoples thoughts

Did you manage to advance with the matte black gril mate?

What about either carbon wrapped or white? A white a brown theme could set the car of a tad? Just a thought

Upto now ive not touched the grill, i want some new or upgraded badges before i go any further, i closed the boot the other day and the badge fell off. Plus both badge look tatty as hell. I did think about carbon wrap but dont think my testicles are big enough lol

Mmmm carbon

Well yesterday i jetwashed the car, sprayed it with elbow grease degreaser, jetwashed it again. Washed with simoniz and then polished with triplewax high gloss... Looks a complete different colour now

Ive now painted my grill vw magic black pearl however im having trouble uploading the pictures. Paint choice was a blatent idea steal from RSandy lol but his looked great. I also painted my centre console the same colour & my ashtray(coin tray) and gear surround are in primer ran out of paint.

Heres a tip tho, halfords dont sell magic black pearl they have to mix it up for you at a cost of £9.99 i work next door to a The range store so nipped in on my dinner to check out the fishing stuff & spotted car paints, 3.99 and they sold magic black in a rattle can & its bigger than halfords. Result! They only do 3 skoda colours but stock a big range of vw/audi paints.

This easily ups me to 250bhp

The induction kit is actually from a 2.0ltr primera GT, with a small mod to the breather pipe and it fits. The throttle body on my 1.6 is the same size as the primera.

Ive also managed to obtain a colour code for the actual brown paint of my car. Its called marrone metallic brown paint code U4U4 halfords match it if you give them the code but its only U4 on there system! I can repair my door mirror now as the paint has peeled

its a very cool colour, and im guessing also a bit of a rarity like my esprit violet. i had a right game getting the colour code for mine, skoda main dealers are useless!

but yeh, dont be put off that halfords only list it as U4, paint schemes tend to sometimes just use a few of the digits of a code, my scheme does anyways

Ordered myself a remote central locking kit from ebay, universal one but has the fobs which look kind of like the originals, plus i can transfer over my immob chip. Will get that fitted when it arrives using the guides on here & the various ones for the mk4 golf that i can find on google.

They are the original badges but they are in two pieces, so the clear part i sprayed black. the autobots stickers cost £1.60 from ebay. i lacquered them once the stickers were on

VRS side repeaters Fitted £7 from ebay.

Also had fitted a full set of michelin energy tyres, i no there not ultra mega performance tyres but for safety with kids in the car they suit me fine.

Still waiting on my central locking kit to arrive

Now have remote locking fitted & working. In the last 7 days thats 4 new michelins, VRS side repeaters & remote central locking

Traded the barge in today against a 2003 VRS in black
