Autocar this week has a small article on the new Octy RS. They didn't quote their sources or anything so it could just be more speculation but what it says in an article entitled "Fastest Octavia gets Petrol or Diesel choice" is:

- will come in both petrol & diesel;

- due late this year;

- petrol will be 2.0 litre 197 bhp; and

- diesel will be 2.0 litre 168bhp.

I know what i will get in 3 years anyway !!

Sounds like the most likely choice of engines to me.

I'd consider an diesel VRS depending on price and spec.
