Turbo Upgrade

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I didn't know which section to really put this in but does border line a performance upgrade!

So, i can get a pd150 turbo charger for dirt cheap, reason being it was removed from the car because of making a funny/weird noise (maybe f**ked)

If i purchase the turbo, could i just go and get it reconditioned or hybrid?? and would this eliminate the problem thus me having a turbo upgrade for next to nothing! :)

Thanks

anyone?

If you can look at turbo and see if the turbine has any movement side to side, if it does would more then likely need recondition, but then again it prob a gd idea to get recondition before you stick it in anyway, but cant say if it would cure the noise

you have to be careful on the exit angle from the turbo to exhaust as different models differ

Yes, I (and most people here) would strongly advise that you drop it in to a company to check out the condition of it. The charge for this probably won't be that much, and, if needs be, they could advise you on a recondition of it and give you pricing details etc.

Google search and I found these guys:

I don't know if this will help or not but certainly phone around a few places and have a chat to them!

All the best!
