Hi,

Wondering if anyone knows how id go about getting a couple of new keys for the car.

Lost my main set of keys in a river, and now need to get some new ones cut before i lock myself out of the car again.

Have the 1.9 SDI 2001 clasic estate.

Anyone know if that car keys require chipping or can i just get them cut.

Don't have central locking, and all of the doors are manual, and my current keys are just basic keys i believe.

Thanks very much .

Mat

Any local locksmith should be able to help you dude.

Is likely you will need immobilser chip key too, that is if you want the key to be able to start the car that is.. :)

The physical key is easy, either a good auto locksmith or you can have a key cut from a photo via the guy on ebay (he's a reputable auto key cutter who sells at a discount via eBay). The problem you then have is getting the transponder coded in. This is where a good auto locksmith will save you a lot of agro. You will ideally want the other key removing from the ecu while they're at it but depending on the kit they have they may just clone the existing transponder. Either way it shouldn't cost much but without the transponder coding you can't start the car.
