I've just had my injectors changed at skoda Doncaster and then my emissions light came on. An orange coil light also came and and started flashing. It went into limp mode so took it into skoda and they said it'll be £1700 to replace the DPF. I've taken it to top gear performance in Doncaster and they'll remove the DPF for £120. However I'll still need the DPF settings deleted from my map so it comes out of limp mode. Someone has quoted £175 to do this. Does this sound reasonable or is it a quick fix someone could do for cheaper in Doncaster?

Completley off topic, but is yours the red vrs i could of seen when i dropped my fabia off and picked my octy up?

£120 sounds ridiculously low for a DPF delete. A motto over on the Seat Cupra forums is 'do it cheap, do it twice'

Guys over there usually end up paying at least over £400/£450 for a DPF delete and map on the Leon.

Did you have the injectors changed under recall, or just because they needed changing? It's a common known problem that the replacement injectors on the 1.9PD cause DPF issues, if it were me, I'd be taking it back and telling them to get shafted. They replaced injectors and all of a sudden the car is broke? DPF my arse.

My car was recalled for Injectors. Since then, then the coil light came on, then the engine management light came on.

My emmisions orange light of an exhaust had previously come on but I ignored it and it went off. It came back on again before I took it in for the recall injectors.

If I kick up a fuss can't they check to see when the warning lights came on?

It's £175 for the DPF removed off the ecu only because he said I've already paid for a map and they should have removed it then. I've also got to pay 120 for the mechanical work too. Do they cut it out?

If it's due to recalled injectors, I'd be giving them the *******s, and paying for nothing.

I believe in most cases they cut out the innards, and put the housing back on. Some people do their own DPF delete pipe.

There are plenty of us on here who have suffered DPF issues directly after the injector recall.

If however you have the DPF light on before the recall then it may not be related to the injector change, however it sounds a bit iffy to me and I certainly wouldn't roll over and accept it.

Open a case with Skoda UK customer services (08457 745745). It's worth a try!

They are aware of the prblems caused by the injector change (rising oil levels, poor cold starting, lumpy idle, DPF failures etc.) because I'm one of them and there are at least another three members that have posted similar issues in the last week or two.

Whatever you do don't let them try and fob you off by saying "we've never known issues like this before" as it's rubbish.

A DPF removal for £120 sounds a quick botch job to me. They either plan to simply cut it out or they'll just smash out the contents.

It needs doing properly and if possible to a standard that means you can't tell it's been removed by looking under the car. Removing the DPF isn't an MOT failure but some people have had issues when it's been obviously tampered with or the car fails the emissions / smoke test.

As above a full DPF removal with the CANBUS coding should be around £500 inc. VAT.
