DA polisher recommendations .....

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm looking at purchasing a DA polisher for my car and I don't know what ones people would recommend - ideally as cheap as possible (approx. £100 - 150), but obviously one that works, gets good results and has various interchangeable heads / pad attachments?

Check out "theultimatefinish.co.uk". Meguirs g220 is good but I use the cheaper kestrel das6 and its absolutely fine for my purposes.

No need for higher wattage in my opinion, unless you want to go into business......

Then check out "Gtechniq for some brilliant finishing products...

DAS6 is very well respected on Detailing World - I'll be getting one soon!

Clean your car?

I want to order tonight / tomorrow to (hopefully) clean my car, as well as my disable Dad's camper and faded red MK4 Golf, this weekend.

I'm ordering:

Meguiars - Gold Class Shampoo to rinse the car;

Auto Finesse - Rejuvenate (harsher chemical option) / Poorboys - White Diamond (more gentle bio-degradable) to prepare the paint for waxing etc;

Poorboys - White Natty's Paste Wax (More frequent and / or summer washing) / Collinite 476S - Super Doublecoat Auto Wax (more for winter or less frequent washing) to wax;

Valet Pro - Trim Glitz - for black trim;

Valet Pro - Bilberry Wheel Cleaner - for the wheels; and

Chemical Guys - New Look Trim Gel - to tyre dressing.

But wanted a polisher to use before finishing.

go on clean your car and have a look at there kits for the Das-6 pro, you can get some good deals and its cheaper than the meguiars

I bought the Das 6 standard and found it more than man enough and as stated above check out the deals with some polish in and save a few bob. :thumbup::)

DAS6 Pro when its on offer from detailing world :D I use Farecla Pads (very good quality) and polishes as there is a body shop supplier in Cardiff that I visit which is a lot cheaper than using Megs etc

+1 for the DAS 6 PRO. The extra power is worth it :thumbup: . If you get the DAS 6 you will only end up wishing you had got the PRO (IMO).

Got mine from CYC with a set of Menzerna pads and polishes which are good on the hard VAG paint.

I recently bought the Das 6 Pro with Lake Country pads and Menzerna polishes from CYC.

I've only used it once, but was very pleased with the results (which can be seen in my thread in the Member's Cars section) and would therefore recommend it as a kit; it is said to be a very good all rounder, particularly on VAG paint.
