TDI tuning chip

Featured Replies

Well I took the plunge and purchased a TDI Tuning tuning box. 75 knicker off Fleabay.

Great service, speedy delivery, dead easy ti fit( 5 mins).

And hey presto does what it says on the box.

More power. Oodles more torque. And a big increase in MPG.

Went on my hols throught the Yorkshire and managed 63MPG.

Fabia now is a bit of a woolf in sheeps clothing. Can blow off all the local chavs i their Saxo's and Punto's much to their disgust.

No faults to report after a few thousand miles. No excess smoke. No flat spots. Just going through tyres a bit quicker. Ho Ho.

Keep on trucking.

Sorry to make an example of you mate, but righteous threads like this make me laugh. Literally what makes you any better than these guys??

He not in a saxo or punto ?

The standard VRS is more than capable of blowing them off anyway.... Not to mention it'll whip a 330i & Type R mid range and a 20-40mph time that matches a Lotus 111R :giggle:

What was the tuning box, not a resistor hidden in a plastic casing like so many seem to be?

Didnt say I was better than these guys I.E. Saxos and Puntos but the ones round here tend to drive like idiots.I have every respect for the serious car enthusiast but I cannot see for one minute why putting a row od Sparco, Ripspeed, ect stickers give them the right to loon about like clowns.

I have seen many well prepared hatchbacks and admire the skill of the people who put these together.

I am on a very limited budgetand so the tuning box was saved up for!!!!!!!!!!!

I dont have an unlimited purse like some so these things have to be earned. All I am saying s thta if you are at the bottom rung of the modification ladder this may be a good introduction.

If, and it is a big if, the owners of these pseudo modified cars start to consider the best to modify their steeds then I willgive them credit.

I say that instead of spending a couple of hundred quid on a big bore exhaust which willnot in any wy improve your cars performmance try to improve in a sensible manner.

The only effect that a big bore exhaust has apart from lesening the crs performance is to **** of the local population.

I am a fan of the noise of a well tuned motor but these big bore and no more engines are a pain in the arse.

For your money...

...You could have got uprated pads and/or discs depending on where you look.

Which would have made much more sense for the cost, because inevitably if you're that desperate for power you're gonna come to the point where you need to stop...

I know it's a cliche but:

"Power is nothing without control"

I'd rather have a low powered car that can handle and outbrake people than a car that can shift in a straight line and do none of the rest.

Just my opinion on the matter. Too many people become obsessed with improving power when most times none of those improvements in power will make your car actually better to drive. Brakes, Tyres, suspension, ARBs, braces - Those things can make an average corner so much more enjoyable without the need for any more power.

^^ All of that!

Wonder if the chavs in Saxos get fed up with the Flabias etc going so slowly around corners all the time? ;)

My Occty Vrs can do that anyway, no tuning box

He has an Ambiente PD100 though not a vRS?

Get no problems from little chavs anymore, I have a vRS Estate, its the bigger cars I worry now :D
