Help needed! Immobilizer kicks in after i removed the dashboard

Featured Replies

I have a 1.4 mpi comfort spec fabia, when i found there was a creak under the dash board i set about finding it. before reading the thread on here i had removed many of the interior trim panels to gain access to it, however while doing this i dropped my T20 torx driver and extention bar into the central heater pipe and it dropped down inside, As it was too late to buy a new one and its coming up for the bank holiday weekend i decided to just remiove the dash and extract the bit. well it wasnt my smartest of ideas. After part removing the dash i found i still could not get into the air box. however in removing the dash i unplugged the speedometers two connectors.

I then decided to call it a night and to re assemble everything. well now its all back together i reconnect the battery to find the Immobilizer kicks in and kills the engine.

what do i do??

Either the dash plugs are not seated correctly, or you have knackered the dash panel with static.

Ive removed the dash panel n re connected the plugs, it nows starts, however i now have the airbag light on? this confuses me as i had the battery disconnected while i unplugged the passenger airbag, i never touched the drivers air bag

The only way to clear the airbag light is with vag-com, the light maybe on because the plugs were not fully home when you first started the car with the immo fault.
