Not sure which levels have it as standard fit but the Elegance F/L has standard puddle lights. The coming home/leaving lights can, I believe, be activated via VAGcom - a la DRLs.

I also have light assist which I like.

The one little niggle for me is the position of the "Auto" setting in relation to the other switch settings.

If I just want side lights I have to move the switch from "0" through "Auto" to get to sides.

Unless I'm really quick with the switch this results in my xenons flashing on and off briefly as I pass though the "Auto" position.

I heard that this, if done regularly, can greatly reduce the life of the xenons?

I've noticed on Fords that "Auto" is in the last position after dipped headlights which to me makes more sense.

I guess the logical thing would be to leave them in "Auto", only use sides for parking at night and forget about it.

Also, one more thing. I can't turn on my front or rear fog lights with the switch in "Auto", I have to move it over to dipped headlights before I can pull the switch out into position?

Usually the uprated battery is fitted to cars with Xenons.

Can't think why - surely the alternator drives the xenons whenever the engine is running? Twenty seconds of headlight activity isn't going to drain the battery! Thought uprated batteries were for diesels with their greater cranking load....
