Monte Carlo - Audio lead question

Featured Replies

Hi all

My Dad has just got himself a brand new Monte Carlo and I have a quick question about the aux input.

In the Glovebox there is the aux input socket and with the car he got a patch lead to connect up an ipod. Not having an ipod, he'd like to be able to play music from a USB memory stick. Looking at the packaging on the patch lead and having done a quick bit of research it seems like there is a different lead with a usb socket on the end, which I'm assuming would allow him to plug in a memory stick?

Is that right?

How much are the leads from Skoda, or are there any alternative leads that work fine?

Yes mate there's a different lead. EBay is best place to get them.

If you have not opened the packaging for ipod lead could you not try take it back and ask for a swap? Never know might swap?

The garage was supposed to give you an option on what lead you required before delivery.

Agree with fabked, dealer should have asked which lead you required, take it back and ask for the one you need.

Are you talking about the 3.5mm aux in connection inside the actual glove box or the MDI connection below the lower glove?

Only the MDI will take a USB..

The Monte has the mdi as standard so you can get the mdi to USB swapped for your mdi to iPhone lead from your dealer.

I got my dealer to order the mini USB MDI cable when I ordered my Monte. However I discovered a iPOD MDI cable in the upper glove box. Result

Tried the iPOD lead first with an iPOD classic but did not have much success (could only play the tracks in alphebetic order!).

Now using the midi USB lead plugged into an old 160Gb 2.5" hard drive (proper file structure). Hard drive fits nicely into slot and holds thousands of MP3s.

Cheers.
