is the clutch being naughty?

Featured Replies

my octy has just hit 90k on original clutch so im sorta waiting for it tbh.

Its slightly difficult to get a clean bite when pulling away, always sounds like im over reving it but i noticed last week that the bight point in the clutch pedal was getting a little high but i took it away for a long weekend somewhere, about 500 miles of motorway driving.

once there i noticed that the clutch felt great, bite point was just below half way and it was a nice hard bite, pulling away from junctions was spot on but then after being home a couple of day and normal town driving its gone back to how it was before.

I have a jabba remap and boost controller and full exhaust system, downpipe & sport cat. It doesnt slip at full boost at all.

Should i start saving?

it might not be the clutch, but air in the clutch hydraulic system. When was the brake fluid last changed as its all the same system.

brake fluid was changed last dec as i came to the car one morning and found the pedal to the floor, once pulled up it was fine.

sounds more like the clutch master cilinder is failing

+1 unfortunately - same thing happened on my son's LCR, after much bleeding, and a new slave cylinder, only a new master sorted it permanent

doh!! well atleast its not the expence of a clutch change just yet then. ive found a genuine master cylinder on ebay all new etc for £65 so might grab it. would the servo need changing too?

clutch is not servo assisted like the brakes.
