S3 Lower brace

Featured Replies

Hi,

Does anybody who has fitted one of these have any photos of how they fit in relation to the sump.

I have been looking at some photos on another thread, but I cannot tell how close they fit to the sump.

I was hoping to get a double win by fitting one, handling and something to cushion the blow over over speed bumps etc.

Before anybody says it, I know it is not a sump guard, but I was just thinking that it would be easier to straighten a flat bar than fit a sump - probably cheaper too :).

Many thanks in advance

Phil

neg on that mate,

the bar is behind the sump so it gets it before the bar will.

Buy a sump guard from skoda ??

you can buy 1 from shhkoda?

Costs mega money, that's the only problem.

yeh im sure it does mate.. i think it makes for more fun avoiding small insects to save my sump anyway.... honest .

Cheapest way is to get a shallow sump think they are around 80 quid

Or engine raisers ;-)

Need to read more on shallow sump before I go that route to be honest, I would have thought engine raisers would alter the handling - not for the better?. I have been told the official sump guard hangs quite low?, love the small insect comment.

engine spacers are ok, but can get problems with tightly fitted exhausts and things not reaching. All the Mk4 boys with air use them for that extra clearance a few of my pals included. Some people have no problems, other do, do be warned if you go down that route. personally i would get a shallow sump and be carful when ya drive.. Touching wood (no rudeness intended) i have never ****ted a sump and all my cars i have ever owned (except my scoobys) have been slammed.
