The octavia is approaching its first modifacation

Featured Replies

Now my octavia is 2 weeks old its reaching to time for the slight subtle modifications to the appearance start:

1) windows are being tinted friday, only the rears with medium tint as don't like too dark and want a oem+ look.

2) wheels are booked in for powder coating to hyper black (metallic black similar what came with my mk2 fabia vrs) the day i get back from my holiday at the end of the month.

3) the grill is going to be done black after the wheels so i can see what the car looks like with both chrome and black grill along side the black wheels.

4) lamin x is going to be applied to the headlights to help bring the the black wheels and grill all together to hopefully give a subtle and slight stealthy yet factory look. Unsure about the lamin x so will have to see what it looks like once on.

5) its not a certain but i can see lowering spring been put on at some point in the future but we shall see.

:) :) :) giddy

Im considering plasti dip, but for what it cost to get it done gloss it probably wouldn't be much more for spraying but thanks i may try tape first then buy a can of plasti dip just to play with it really. Cheers

Hi rob like ur ideas but would try black electrical tape on the grill to give you an idea what it looks like. Did mine black at first, ended looking like an extra out of cars. Ended up going for back to red.

Sounds good - good tip about tape on grill. I was going to plastidip mine but will try electrical tape first to see what it looks like.

I had a medium smoke on mine and it looks good.

Roof would look good in Black vinyl :)

Ill be leaving the roof as not to my taste but not abad idea :)

Tints and wheels should look smart. I'm on my phone, but is that your red Octy in the tiny avatar? If so, I think a colour coded grille would look better. Black grilles sometimes look a bit stuck on when they contrast with the paintwork.

Yes it is mine on the avatar, thats my choice red or black just very unsure i wanted someone with photoshop to do it for me had no luck finding any one capable

The black grille looks good on certain colours. I recently done a black grille for my brothers new rally green octavia and I think it looks much better than the chrome or if I had done it green. On my blue vrs I thought about black but ended up doing it blue as it looked better

Thats my worry ha, ideally could do with a photoshop, i think blue colour coded looks better than black in just uncertain with red as don't want it to look tacky, but then i want it to match wheels and tinted windows

I think a black grille would look good on the red especially if you get the lights done with lamin-x.
