Resetting One Touch Electric Windows?

Featured Replies

According to the brochure my 2005 Fabia Elegance 1.2HTP has one-touch electric front windows.

But I can't get the one-touch to work. The windows only move while I'm holding the switch - both up and down.

I've tried holding the switch for a few secoands while the window is closed - that resets the one-touch on my other VAG car (an Audi S4).

I've tried tapping the switch briefly (again like my Audi), or holding it for a few seconds (like a Vauxhall I used to have).

But I just can't get the one-touch to work.

I've got a VAG-COM so if it's a coding thing I can do that, but the openobd.org website doesn't mention anything.

So I'm crying "help" to everyone here ....

On my vRS it is only available on driver side. You push down a little and it just moves. You push further down and it goes 'all the way'. Ditto for up.

Passenger side only does 'hold and it moves' operation. Must admit it's a little annoying as it's probably just a function of the switch and another wire :)

To set it, use your "ignition-key" in the door as if you were unlocking the car. Hold it in the unlock position and all your electric windows should go down. Then move and hold it in the lock position. All your electric windows should go up. Eh voila! You should now have one-touch windows :D

Both my front windows work on one-touch and you just have to hold the switch for a second and then they carry on. Shame it doesn't work on the rear ones though and I have to hold the switch to make them go up or down

Must check it out - Mrs said she couldn't work them

You sure you can do it from the passenger side?

Only the driver's controls are one-touch. The passenger's controls aren't...

Mine are :P At least I think they are.........! Must check later......... ;)

Chris

Must be one of the differences between the Elegance and vRS specs...

My Furbie vRS has one touch windows, Driver & passenger side, Just Checked

Andy, do you mean from the driver's door? What I'm trying to say is that using the controls on the driver's door you can operate both front windows as a one-touch. If the passenger uses their control, they can't operate their window as a one-touch... does that make sense?

That's correct.....The driver can one touch the passenger door from the drivers side but the passenger, from the passenger door can't. I think its so the driver can open window to ask for directions then drive off while the window is still going up....possible security reasons as well... hope this helps....Andy

That's okay then, that's what I thought it should be. I must've been mis-interpreting the other posts and assuming the passenger door controls were one-touch too... :)

Thanks to all, I'll try the key in the lock tonight.

Are you sure you're operating the switches correctly. On my car the switch has effectively two positions. Move the switch up or down to act as a normal window, but press harder to overcome the resistance to the second position to activate the one-touch "mechanism"

Thanks ScoobyChris !!!

My Drivers side one touch stopped working, but your tip on how to enable it worked fine.

:)

All you need to do on the Fabia is with the window all the way up is hold up for a few seconds. The ignition needs to be on btw.
