GreenLine II 2011 Model - Service Miles to Go - What Am I doing Wrong?

Featured Replies

So I have searched the forums and found several diffeernt ways of showing on the display the miles left before the next service.

1. Ignition On Turn to right just rotates between minutes and hours no display of miles left.

2. Open car door (Ignition off) turn dial to left again just minutes / hours rotated around.

3. Ignition On Press button for > 2 Secs all that happens is that it shows the Engine code CAYC? (Think from memory that is engine code).

So am I doing something wrong or is it not configured to display for GreenLine Octavia?

The car has not been serviced and is at 16,700 miles so I am guessing set to variable and really want an idea of how long I have predicted before the next service.

Any advice welcome.

As mentioned by other posters you would think this useful bit of info for the car would be easy to display.....

Cheers

MJ

Not sure on a FL on my pre FL when it is showing current miles not trip , press the button in and wait till it displays, did this work on your 04 model( your sig says so )

Yes worked OK on 04 but the display is different on the 11 Greenline -

Odd I get the Engine Code CAYC which might mean something not quite set up right. The new car is an ex Skoda MK vehicle and should have been set up by whoever did the PDI. Guessing it might be ParagonAutomotive at Upper Heyford if they still have the contract with VWG.

Ask your dealer if they could help, say you want to have it serviced there but do not know when to bring it

I have 2011 vRS & have checked simply by turning the odometer reset button to the left once (usually engine running)

Make sure the dislay is in default first, i.e, showing your mileage and not the clock adjustment.

This is from the latest manual (button '5' is the one that sticks out to the right of the speedo)...

Displaying the distance and days until the next service interval

You can use the button 5 to display the remaining distance and the days until the next service interval.

A key symbol and the remaining distance appear for 10 seconds in the display.

At the same time, the remaining days until the next service interval are displayed.

Thanks I will try this with engine running

Yes all very useful but exactly what do you do?

Manuals are full of useful things like this but not exact instructions.

:drunk:

As described I have used this knob (button) to no avail so far but I have tried it without engine running and what would have normally works displays CAYC which shows it does something when you hold it down for > 2secs.

What would be really useful in the manual is to say "turn engine on and turn to left once" if that is what is needed to make it work.

Anyway I will try the engine on routine, I had avoided that as I had seen other comments about being able to re-set to fixed servicing using the button while Engine on....

On the Greenline II it has maxidot. With the engine on but stationary, hold the knob on the end of the right hand stalk in for a few seconds until the maxidot menu appears you should be able to find the service options from here.

Just to add as I couldn't remember before its under "vehicle status".

I will try this, I think i did out of frustration try this yesterday to no avail but will give it a go again, so engine has to be running? I presume I am looking at the same display area and not having to then look at the Radio display area. I will now google Maxi dot to see if I can find an idiot guide.

You really think this would be simple for someone who works in IT.... Dohhhh!!!

It should all come up in the display between the speedo and rev counter.
