Hi there, im in the process of fitting a fmic along with a newer turbo (as mine is smoking) to my occy vrs. Just wondering if its worth fitting an oil catch tank? Whats the pro's and cons?

there is no cons only pro so do it ;-)

not sure as i have not taken the turbo off yet but there is lots of oil in the pipes and old intercooler.

what is the best type of catch tank to get and where from?

done mine today, done mine a little different to how the other boys on here do theres. plus, my can was only £50 and didnt have to re mortgage the house to buy a OCC tank.

nope.. 15mm in and outs with 19 to 15 reducers.

love the colour scheme! thats a nice looking engine bay, just one question, in the close up of the catch can, top right of the picture, where did u relocated the box mounted to the trianglular mount on bulk head?

Bet its not internally baffled though ;)

I never got on with my catch can and removed it.

Got annoyed draining it all the time, as it kept filling up with water.

Probably didn't help that I was making short journeys in winter.

I was draining every couple of weeks though. The one time it had completely filled and was close to draining into the TIP :o

It was a smallish can though.
