If the steering wheel ( 11 plate Petrol Vrs with DSG ) has the Telephone buttons on the right hand side of the wheel and the Radio has a Phone button is the telephone handsfree or will a Bluetooth kit needed for it to work.

I believe that the only (OE) way of using the telephone buttons on the wheel or stereo is with an OE Bluetooth module and wiring.

I can always be corrected though...

Surely if it was OEM with the phone buttons then it will have the module.

Check to see if there is anything under the drivers seat.

As you are aware the standard head unit doesn't have BT. Unless it is the Ambusden or what ever it is called.

Think the Radio is a " Bolaro " but has phone buttons on the steering wheel,

If you have the bluetooth kit fitted then pressing the phone button on the Bolero radio will present a screen allowing you to make emergency calls even if no mobile phone is paired up.

My car came with no option fitted but still had all the buttons.

the dsg steering wheel comes with 'phone' button regardless of an actual bluetooth installed.

likewise with the bolero & columbus - they have the 'phone' button regardless.

as TsvRS said - if u actually have it installed, it will give u the option to make SOS calls if there is no phone paired.
