Anyone ever 'bought out' their PCP agreement with VWFS?

Featured Replies

I've got a nice bonus and promotion at work, and as always I started thinking about other cars I could now afford :)

My Fabia VRS is on PCP, its less than a year old, and I guess I'd either have to trade it in, or buy out the contract and then sell privately?

Has anyone else done this, and did you lose a lot of money?

You can pay lump sums off whenever which wont be subject to the full amount of interest paid. so depending on the condition age and mileage etc you might not lose as much as you think. Im not a financial adviser but thats how i understand it anyway!

Have done it twice, pretty easy to do. Just phone them and they will give you a setllement figure. It will be less than he remaining balance so you may get a pleasant surprise. Just watch them on payments, cancel your direct debit after they have setlled the payment. On our last one they took another month out after payment, easily fixed but a hassle.

Just rang them, all automated and I have a settlement figure :) - thanks for the replies

I'll put a post up in the for sale bit, as the car is like new and has some nice options and I'm sure a trade in offer will be bad!

Before I bought my Elegance CR9 in late March had a look at Audi A1.

There was an offer on which was a discount if you took finance.

The plot was to buy on finance & get that discount, then to pay it off next day. No penalty. no pack drill.

The Fabia, however is in garage for FOURTH* time with non-starting problems - should have bought that Audi?

* and last!
