Front Front Lamp Cracked = MoT Fail?

Featured Replies

Hi There

Can someone tell me if a cracked front fog lamp = MoT failure? Mine is due this week and I just wondered. If it is a failure, is it easy to fix? It's the drivers side on on '54 TDi Elegance.

Thanks for any help...Chip

Doesn't come into the test

not entirely sure but I'd doubt it, I've seen cars pass MOT's with tape over rear light clusters pass before now.

thnx for the replies guys

Will be fine, as far as fog light testing goes they only test the rear. I had the same worry about this so text my mate who does mot's and he said not to worry as the front ARE NOT on the test, so there my car goes with one fog light with a cracked lense, and one fog light with the bulb and reflective bit missing :D

Nice one, problem is that there are sooooo many changes these days it's hard to keep up with the latest - unless of course you are in the trade so it's great to get a view from the front (no pun intended!)

Cheers...Chip

The fog light lens, on my wife's Fabia, cracked when it was 4 months old 8 years latter its still cracked, not failed yet..

Front fogs are optional extras on most cars so they aren't included in the mot
