I have a Skoda Octavia VRS Mk1 2003, the red dash door warning light flashes intermittently when driving along, sometimes when you go to lock the car the light stays on but eventually goes out.

I have tried opening all the doors one at a time to try and find which door may be causing the problem without success. I have tried using WD40 on all the lock mechanisms, no luck!

Is there a way of disconnecting the warning light for good? removing the bulb/led or fixing it?

I had this try the tailgate!! When u lock the car if light stays on- then lock it go to bck of car and lean on tailgate and get some1 to look thru window to see if light goes out! I had this for months changed the tailgate lock in the end and adjusted the silver latch. as they have a micro switch u can't do anything with them so easier just to changed them hope this helps

I had the exact same issue. Traced it to the drivers door.

I adjusted the lock to sort it -Loosen the T20 star drive bolts a bit and shift the lock back towards the outside of the door slightly, tighten and re check

If you shift it back too far the light will stay off permanently, which is fine but you'll lose the 'light left on' buzzer.

If this doesn't fix the issue, you have a dodgy microswitch. Plenty of how to threads here on how to replace them.
