What should it feel like

Featured Replies

Hi I recently bought my mk1 octy vrs it was mapped by ktl in Huddersfield just before I bought it!!!

The first few days to a week it felt quite boosty in 1st and 2nd but less so in third gear and up is this normal ? Now it doesn't feel that good at all my mate has a civic type r and I did ok against it till third then it sailed past :(

It feels just very average at the minute I have changed the recirc valve and the rubber pipe that splits in to two on the top right of the rocker it was split I replaced that too its since then it feels less boosty is there any known causes for boost loss i can faintly hear a noise on boost and it sounds like a very quite atmospheric d/v so might be a split pipe or again is this normal ? !!!!!

I can pull with 210bhp on a civic type r!

A modded one with intake / clutch and fly near me and theres nothing in it :)

Strange, my old VR6 easily kept up with a CTR...

sounds to me like a split in the dv are you getting more mpg

I have changed from the oe plastic one to a upgraded recirc and I today found that the pipe under the inlet manifold was split so replaced that too I can't see anymore pipes split at the min and it feels better but still not very boosty I have cleared the code at work and I will scan it again tomorrow!!!

The chap I bought it off said the car had a economy map on not a power map!! Is there a real difference between maps ? Anyone ever heard of ktl who did it ?

I am going to stay behind after work tomorrow and clean the throttle body to see if that makes it feel/drive any better

A remap should combine both incease in power and better fuel economy if driven steady,

I had mine done through shark and it pulls like a steam train in every gear and will do 40mpg on a decent run
