Hi, due to changes in my lifestyle, my new Leon FR Petrol is going to have to go and I'm going back to a diesel car. Someone I work with is selling a Golf GT TDI 170 and I'm quite taken with it. Has anyone had any experience with them? I know the engine is the same as the Octavia vRS so should be fairly bullet proof, just with the rest of the car I was wondering if anyone had any views or owned one?

I've always liked the look of them also. AFAIK main grumbles are those present throughout the TDI 170 range, namely injectors and DPF issues

Is it a PD or a CR?

It's an 06 plate so I'm assuming it's a PD

DPF issues - but if you're doing more than a couple of miles and get the thing warmed up you'll be fine.
