Pulsating Brake Pedal

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Got an issue at the moment where the brake pedal will judder under my foot as I am braking.

More noticeable at lower speeds, so would assume it is warped brake discs.....only issue I have with this, is I don't do a lot of driving in the car and although the discs were replaced 4-5 months ago, I'm not even sure I have done 1000 miles on them yet. Whilst I can be a bit spirited sometimes, it is usually just accelerating hard down a dual carriageway and letting it slow naturally before braking at a roundabout, rather than harsh braking towards the end.

Any ideas? Only thing I can think of is ceased calipers....

Also, whilst I understand the LCR Brembos are a worthy upgrade for the front.....is there any decent upgrades for the rear?

Build up of corrosion? Some moderate high speed braking might help

Sent from my Galaxy S2. Not a Crapple!

You say relatively new discs? We're they suitably bedded in, or is there a build up of glaze on the discs and pads?

After market pads particularly performance pads give quite specific instructions on bedding in which can be quite alarming in terms of lack of mechanical sympathy needed. Therefore maybe doing something similar with yours (ie moderately hard braking from speed in repetition), motorway slip roads are useful for this, will clean up the pads and discs.

It is highly unlikely that you can warp the discs with moderate road driving and I would expect even cheap aftermarket discs not to gave significant run out after having their braking surfaces machined to modern production standards.

I wonder what state the vacuum pipe on the servo is in?????
