Urgent Help Needed - Key Fob.

Featured Replies

Hello all,

Urgent help required please. In my Audi A4 (b6) one key fob went flat - So been using the spare.

Today went to Audi who gave me a replacement battery and said it was plug and play. In short - This hasn't been the case and now that key fob/ the spare isn't working.

To make matters worse, turns out the door key lock doesn't work for the drivers door. The old man then opened the boot and the alarm is now going off. Please can anyone help further?

My only thought is re-program the keys using VAG Com before the battery dies on the car from the alarm. Edit: Just seen this: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_do_you_program_your_Audi_a4_key_fob

However, can't get inside the car....

Many thanks in advance,

Rob.

Crawl in though the boot, open the hood, and disconnect the battery. Then yank the fuse for the alarm, reconnect the battery, and program the key via VAG-COM.

Been there done that. Though i asked my mates five year old brother to do the crawling for me... Audi S8, 2007

This model A4 - The only way to remove the rear seats is from inside as found here:

^ That means getting through in the boot is a no-go. Do you have any other suggestions? Alarm has now stopped as I re-locked the boot. However, would like entry to the car if possible.

How did you manage it then Rob?

Good to hear. How did you manage it? I hope not the windows+hammer option...

Called out a keys4cars guy in the end. Created a 'copy' of one of my keys from the car details - Then re-programmed my car key using the above method putting it in the ignition. The other key seems to be broken so looks like I'm after another key and will then re-program that.
