Andy's Esprit Violet Mk1 Wagon

Featured Replies

Looking good. Nice motor.

This looks great - I really like what you've done with it. As said, great to see something that isn't a vRS!

May I ask why you don't use a van though for work?

Vans cost more to tax and insure, generally.

yup, vans just cost more in general, and u get less for your money! for what i have spent on this car in total, i could still only realistically have bought a rough sdi van of some sorts. the only vans in budget were astra vans, but they have no side access doors making them useless for a job where u have lots of kit that u need access to all of it, plus astra vans suffer from diesel pump failure far too much for my liking lol

plus, vans in my budget wouldnt even dream of having electric windows n mirrors, aircon etc. and its a lot easier to make an estate look impressive than a van.

then theres the fact that my neighbours van, which is left empty most the time, gets broken into regularly. yet my estate, touchwood, with all its kit in it, just doesnt get bothered with

and if needs be, i can take all my gear out, and have my rear seats back in place, in under an hour. ideal for holidays and stuff.

oh, and thankfully, i now have fully functioning dash clocks, makes it feel like a whole new car! lol

planning to remove my fmic and paint it satin black as im not really liking the polished alloy look, bit too bold

and currently drawing up plans to rebuild the back end for my work gear, almost aiming to achieve a classy boot build, but showing off sprayguns rather than subs n amps lol

Fair points. I must say, it looks much better than a van too! I've always like estate based vans like Astravan etc.

Really like this and love the colour :)

X2

Good work pal :)

really like this! not something i would own my self but looks real good now you have been at it! i like the way them trims just fell off ;) funny how that happens :p haha good work i will be following this!

so today i finally lost my patience with my polished fmic, that just didnt look right, stood out far too much

this happened

resulting in

as you can see in the 1st pic, i masked up 1 face of the 'cooler, to keep it polished, just incase i didnt like the satin black. the cooler is completely symetrical, so i can spin it round either way. turns out i do prefer it satin black tho, so it will be staying this way round

hoping to make a start on a big new custom boot build for all my work gear, making it a bit more permanent, and a bit more showy. stuff having posh neons and shiny amps n subs, my install will have a pair of purple devilbiss sprayguns on show lol

Good work, love it :D
