Hi everyone.

The OH's car is now on 77k miles and overdue a cambelt based on time so looking to get that done next. Is it an easy job to do? Any known issues? Do I need to change the waterpump or anything else while I'm at it?

Any advice from someone who has done it would be most welcome. Ta.

Just looked on ebay and the Gates kits are £104. That seems a lot. Cambelt kit for my astra was under 40 quid.

Also would anyone like to comment on this discussion?

The belt was changed at 45k but without looking, I think its overdue on time.

Get the water pump done at the same time, I had my cambelt changed at 65k, and the water pump wasn't done, it went pearshaped at around 80k, fortunately no damage was done. Change them both
