I'm looking to get the chrome surround on my FL Octavia either painted or wrapped. I found some instructions on removing the grille and it seems it's just a few screws which is easy enough.

What I'm wondering though is can I refit the center grille section without the surround until I get the surround sorted?

I dont want to end up with the car off the road, I could just buy a new one but then that seems like a waste of cash.

I had mine off a few weeks back, the chrome part just clips onto the black part so i think the black part can be mounted on its own, didnt try it though

Apparently it's a pig to seperate.

Total pig to separate without breaking the clips on the surround. Assume we're talking about FL here.

on the pre fl it is pretty easy,just have some sticky fixers handy for refitting
