Replacement front left shock - running on Weitec GTs

Featured Replies

Hi guys. Im running my Fabia on Weitec GT coilovers.

I'm pretty sure the front left shock needs replaced. My question is, what shock would you recommend to replace it with?

Thanks

Don't think you can just replace the damper on the front as it's one piece with the adjuster on coilovers.

Rears are different as the spring and shock are totally seperate.

I'd replace like for like, so go for the same Weitec ones.

Are they still under warranty?

If not, DPM can order the bits separately.

Also be worth replacing the other side as well so that they are matched, so the damping rate remains the same.

Thanks.

Not under warranty no. Ill drop DPM a message and see what's what.

I would recommend both to match them up. Unless it was a rare failure of some sort. How old are they?

They're bout 16months old and I've done about 15000 miles. Mixture of motorway and town driving.

I wouldnt bother doing both then. They shouldn't fail so early.

I'll have mechanic look at it next week and go from there.

It'd be as cheap to put a whole new set of cheaper coilies on as it would be to replace the front shocks.

I'll keep the thread updated.

Did you get a price on the weitecs for the front?

The new shocks are about £150 a piece. Even getting a whole new Weitec kit kinda makes sense as they're coming in around £460
