Flashing glow plug light

Featured Replies

The wife's just phoned me to say our 12 plate 1.6 tdi started juddering and the glow plug light is flashing. She's miles away trying to view a house.

I suggested she limp to the house viewing (quite close by) and then call Skoda Assist.

Any thoughts on what the problem could be? A bit disturbing a there's less than 2.5K on the clock.

Thanks.

Dpf? Does she crawl around in it?

Still under warranty let Skoda take care of it.

Your car doesn't like the house. View a different one and see if this solves the problem.

Not got full story yet but apparently skoda assist diagnosed an injector fault. Not very good on a car that isn't two months old yet.

Not that impressed with Skoda assist either.  From phoning them at 2:30pm, the RAC took an hour and a half to arrive, diagnosed that the car should be recovered then the recovery vehicle took three hours to turn up. On that basis I'd stick with the AA whose response times I've always found to be excellent.

I know plenty of new cars develop faults but that's ok as long as it doesn't happen to me :(

Very unusual fault on a cr. but then again it's possible.

Saw the RAC/Skoda Assist fault details which said it was an electrical fault on the number 4 injector (at least what I could decode from the RAC chap's handwriting).

The car is now back at the dealers and they've verified the fault. Apparently the recommended action is to replace all four injectors. The dealer's querying with Skoda UK whether it's appropriate to replace all four, considering the age of the car.

Hopefully get the car back at some point next week...

Have they given you a courtesy car? I would like to smegging well think so!

ps. poor luck
