Today i got the Zeniths fitted after buying 2 Kumho KH31,s for the fronts which are an excellent tyre.Glad i made the choice of these as they are very quiet and good grip (225/45-17)

This is what it looked like before

And after

In need of a little arch filling i think (sourcing spacers)

And from the front

Still have just budget tyres on the rear hence all these weights LOL

I,m really happy with the result as they go well with the car colour.

All comments welcome.

Looks good but would be better if lowered

looks good dude, but as said above just needs lowering a little now

Cheers for replies guys. Was thinking it could do with lowering a tad :)

Looks well suits the colour well!

Much much nicer, great job!

Don't spend money on lowering it, it looks OK to me, why spoil the ride?

Spend the cash on colour coding those black rubbing strips instead

Lowering mine improved the ride. That was one of the reasons for doing it.

We all have different opinions on what makes a car 'ride' better.

For me comfort is more important than been able to take a corner 5 mph faster.

Lowering the suspension doesn't improve ride comfort.

Yes it does if you fit the right springs and dampers. The ride on the standard vrs is not great, it's jittery, particularly at speed. With the eibachs and konis the car is lower but the ride is not noticeably firmer under normal driving conditions although under hard cornering it firms up and therefore handles much better.

The OP doesn't drive a vRS.

Good idea Silver about colour coding door / bumper strips.

I'm only into styling really. Lowering and dampers aren't really needed on a 1.9 Ambiente. Would be getting rear spacers. The ride has tightened since fitting the 17,s it's not so bouncy as the 15,s were a 60 profile tyre. Grips very well with the Kumho tyres fitted. It's a nice drive now.

Looks good. I'd be interested to know where you get some spacers from.

There is a lot on Ebay which i will be looking at complete with longer wheel bolts.Have to be Hubcentric though for VAG group.

Not sure what to get.10 or 15mm?

Have seen alot of 15mm rears on here and they do look much better.

I was intending to fit a 10mm spacer when I have my lowering springs fitted.

Haven't seen pictures for comparison though...

Nick P is lowered with spacers on and looks very good.

marked improvement, almost elevates it by a class step with those

Very nice, I like it :hi:

Wow makes such a difference a real upgrade for the look much more refined! Looking at the last pic how many weights????????? Not even seen so many needed with remoulds lol

Many weights does noy meen rim, could be the tyre.....

I know I mentioned tyre above "remoulds"

LOL yes a lot of weights there. When I got the wheels these were the only decent tyres on there with about 4 mm left so I put them on the rear. The tyre guy said it was because of those cheap budget tyres. The fronts have brand new Kumhos and hardly any weights at all. I will be changing the rears soon as they are a bit noisey.

Thanks for all the comments guys I'm really pleased with the look:)

Will you do a strait swap, a set of steelys for your old ones

Do you mean my Helios alloys?

I'm really wanting to sell them. Looking for £150ono for the set (4). All are scuff and kerbed free. 2 tyres are Prestivo,s with about 5mm left and the other 2 are Michelin Pilot Primacy,s that are the original tyres fitted since new which are getting near the wear indicators.

Just let us know. I'll be putting them in the for sale section soon once I get them cleaned and with photos.

Always put new tyres to the rear mate. ;)

Yeah I know Grizzle I'll be putting a new pair on the rear asap because I can't bear the droning noise.
