Driver door removal!

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I'm probably going to start getting annoying this coming summer as I start to break things (While trying to fix things) on my car.

I've got a new driver door(mine was resprayed at some stage) and ive searched high and low and can only find guides on how to remove the door panel and not the door itself. Does anyone know if it's an easy enough job as i have to switch everything including the lock and window over to the new door aswel.

Thanks

you have to remove the bonnet release handle and the piece of plastic trim it covers in the drivers footwell. Behind this you will find the connectors (elec) for the door, unplug them. open door fully and prize out the rubber boot from the door pillar and pull the cables through. The top hinge has a cover on it which when removed reveals a sort of grub screw which needs removing. The bottom hinge bolts on with 2 (i think) torx bolts. Has been a while but i think thats it

Just finished there took me four hours, mainly because the second door was a bare door and everything had to be switched. Was easy enough just tedious let's hope the hard work paid off we will see in the morning!
