Lovely, IMHO:

Now I just need some springs/suspension/coilies to make it look even nicer :)

Looking good

Yes nice wheels, but defiantely needs some lowering!

nice. vmr V710 replicas?

get it dropped.

Don't know about V710 reps, these are made by Cades and the style is Bern in hyper silver. I'm on the hunt for springs now :)

Eibach or H&R - Eibach 30mm drop; H&R 40mm drop. Or if you want to go proper low, coilies a la baker21 (do a search)

Why go lower than the stock -20mm "sport" suspension?

Handling won't improve, and speed bumps will kill your oil pan.

To improve handling, replace just shocks, put Bilstein B6 Sports in.

Unless you are after the "fat driver and mother in law in the boot" look :giggle:

I used to own a lowered car (actually Eibachs), let's just say the steel skid plate was often used as the 5th wheel with these springs. After 3-4 years of use, Eibachs sagged quite badly. I'd take factory original springs any day.

Nice wheels, by the way.

I just want to add, that even though i use H&R springs, i can still go 40 mph over speed bumps without any problems or inconvenience.

Well, after a lot of to-ing and fro-ing I took the plunge and bought some JOM coilovers. After reading a good number of reviews they seemed the best value :)

Is that "best value" as in the cheapest?

Photos ... or it never happened.

Yep. Best value as in the cheapest (but OK performance - I'm not looking to race it!) I'd love to be able to afford a set of billies with H&R springs around them, but it's not going to happen. I looked at normal shocks with shorter springs etc, but the easiest path is that of least resistance. I can realistically fit the coilovers myself (my garage wanted £300 including alignment!!!) whereas with spring replacement the fronts would need a coil spring compressor - which I don't have (more expense!) By many accounts the JOM's give a similar performance to more expensive kit (they have been compared favourably to various setups including V-Maxx and H&R), so JOM's it is.

I'm not sure anyone on this forum has fitted JOM's to a Superb, but I'm happy to be the Guinea Pig and give an honest (IMHO) appraisal of their performance on a daily driver.

Photo's will come (eventually!)

You might still need to put a spring compressor on the front springs when you remove the assembled strut and spring.

Have you put this up for sale today?

I have. I such a faffer. I've decided I'm going to sell her as is and send the coilovers back. I'm such an indecisive person regarding my cars! I'm the same with bikes. I've changed once a year since I've had my licence (1992!)

I used to be indecisive too. But now I'm not so sure. :giggle:

sorry!
