engine management light

Featured Replies

come on then you guys help this useless octavia driver out please? three weeks ago there was a whirring noise under bonnet when ignition switch off for about 30seconds and its also on during tick over and drive, now this was comming from the throttle body so cleaned it and problem was solved 3 days ago the engine management light popped up saying i have an exhaust problem?

anyway after inspection at a local garage an computer tested it says i have 12547fault ...motor for intake manifold (v157) malfunction and 01681 fan 1 contact circuit grounded?

so i was informed that the throttlebody is faulty to which i replaced, at a cost too but the light still remains on and the same faults are recorded and yes i reset the fault codes before you ask, now the solenoid block also seems to me making a whistling noise, and i replaced that with a new one but that still makes the same noise too?

any ideas on how to sort this out as the local garage and his neighbouring garage are baffled to what it can be? the only thing left is the egr valve but no error is reported on that? and they checked the vacum was ok ?

buy the way this is an octavia 2.0 tdi pd on and 09 plate and has done 80000 miles ish.... by the way when reset the light went outfor about 20 seconds and then reared its ugly head agian

many thanks for anyone who spares a thought for me

check the blue fuzes in the fuze box next to the battery, in the middle, one of the sets of three, there is one that works the fans and the throttlebody, they tend to blow when the t/body motor packs up. ps a bit late but don't clean the inside of the t/body they don't like it and will pack up within days of doing so
