Hello stranger! It would be the Focus for me. Underrated IMO, apart from the looks and having to deal with ford dealers I reckon most things will be superior on the Focus. Certainly the ride and handling. Gadgets, value etc ECG and I don't think the interior quality is much worse than the Audi tbh. The Audi interior does look great quality though. As a family car proposition, the focus estate is just sooo much better. :-)

Audi, hands down. The focus is a decent car, but against the A3, its not even a contest.

Until you come to a corner. . ;)

What colour did you get?

Id stick with the Audi, not worth the hit you would take trading it in.

With regards to the fords being crap, it may be a Citroen 1600 unit and they aren't the quickest things however out of 6 works cars that have been driven quite hard from the word go I don't know any of them that have suffered any major problems even up until they are changed at 100k ish, they have been very well serviced though.

It's company car so depreciation and running costs don't even come into it!

This is the 2 ltr unit but yes, the 1600cc units are fine although apparently can suffer issues with sludge in the turbo oil feed pipes if servicing isnt done appropriately iirc

Absolutely no contest then imo. Last generation A3 or current Focus. If I wanted to look at it, Id have the A3. If I want max driving enjoyment it would be Focus. :)

Ah right, I was under the impression that the 2ltr unit was fords own creation?

Stick with the Audi then if it isn't going to cost you any more.

A3 any day for me!

It's too small as family car and there ain't much kit on it (hate being without cruise control) and its a bit long in the tooth now..... it is well screwed together though.

Forgot to reply to this but if practicality is getting a look in, you've done the right thing.
