bulb warning light still on!

Featured Replies

My right brake light on my 56 vrs went so i replaced the bulb but the on board computer is still sayin the bulb is defective! Checked the all the lights are working.... All good!

Do i have to get the warning light reset or does it just take an age to reset by itself?

Cheers

Did you put the correct bulb type in (eg single not multi element etc)

Ah, but was it the correct twin element bulb? Skoda use an offset prong fitting and the wattage is 21W/4W I think NOT 21/5W as usual. It might be the other way around though. I've got a set in the boot but can't check at the mo'.

Cheers for the link ethel dont think it related to that as all lights working fine. The warning light just is not goin out.

The bulb ive fitted is a 21/4w after much arguing with several motor factors in swindon ha

I think you've either got a bad contact or the wrong bulb.

I say this, because I've seen bulbs work, but be makred dead on mercs and other cars, all for the same reason.

Swmbo's dad had this problem on his golf side light bulb went i changed it and dash warning stayed on. Plugged it into vcds sayed everything was fine i searched every light on the car turned out the glovebox light was done changed it and dash warning went out straight away. Which confused me alot because i thought all bulbs inside the car werent supposed to set off the bulb out light.
