Fabia with manual aircon ?

Featured Replies

I'm thinking of swopping my 98 Toledo for a Fabia Ambiente.

Does the Ambiente have plain and simple a/c like my present car - no sensors or flap motors - just a switch for the compressor.

I've got myself the glossy brochure for the 2006/07 Fabia - complete waste of paper.

I've downloaded the A04_Fabia_Ownersmanual.pdf but I would be grateful for some real-life info.

Thanks

David

I have the ambiente model and yes it is just a simple 1 button a/c "on" or "off" system, there is no climate control or dual zone controls etc.

The temperature dial does indicate some temperature numbers, but I think it's just a very basic system and probably not all that accurate at outputting at the set temperature.

Hope this helps?

It's the manual air-con, which is Volkswagens Climatic system (not to be confused with Climatronic, which is full on dual-zone climate control)

Climatic is described by VW as "semi-automatic"; it features a temperature sensor/thermostat and adjusts the air temperature entering the cabin to maintain this, but other than that it's boggo aircon and nothing else is automated; you control air distribution, blower speed, air-con compressor mechanically/manually. Works quite well, can honestly say I've not touched the temperature dial in my car this year!
