Pretty fugly but if it's solid it might sell to people looking for a cheapish winterised car.

Problem I can see is that the basic petrol 4x4 is a bit too heavy on the juice so the VED band will be too high to make it attractive.

The diesels are into a price bracket where you could buy a used Freelander.

So it's neither cheap enough to appeal to practical tightwads or attractive enough to appeal to buyers with cash.

£14 on a derv 4x4 I can get an arguably better looking Kia Sportage with the remainder of a 7yr warranty.

The Romanian Car Dealers went all over Europe and bought back old used Dacia Duster and had a market that could not get enough of them..

These ones now in conjunction with Renault will offer a basic vehicle at a more honest price,

& it might be good for buyers of used cars down the line.

The Dacia Duster coming only now to the UK have been doing well around the rest of Europe for a couple of years already.

Sort of the replacement vehicle for buyers of used Ssanyong as the supply of old and cheep Ssangyong dries up with the last going to the Breakers in the sky.

It's a mixture of a previous generation Renault engine and a Nissan gearbox. I think consumption is a bit higher than other cars of its class, but it's a decent car that someone can buy as a brand new having 3 years / 60.000miles warranty instead of a better? used car with no warranty and possible well hidden problems.

It seems fair to me.

Had a look yestereday (too late to get a drive) they were showing left hand drive models.

These are to be built in a new factory in India planned for Jan.

Loads of interest and I think they got a fair few pre orders.

If they get over any build issues from a new factory quickly it's a tried combo established product tweeked for the UK. .

If I'm not mistaken did this feature on top gear or 5th gear? It was just a back up car or something and they said it was brilliant?

I would have one of these no question about it, I think it looks nice in grey or blue.
