Maxi Dot, are there different levels depending on Trim level.

Featured Replies

Mine seems to be limited to certain things, do boxes need ticking by software to open up other menu's.

Its not exactly that although it may be in some cases. If the car has more options fitted then it will generally have more controllers e.g., electric seat (and folding door-mirror) controller or Bluetooth module. If those controllers have setting which are shown in the maxidot then they will only actually appear if fitted. I hope that makes sense.

Andy, it all depends as well on what convenience controller is fitted. When I had the maxidot retrofitted to my 54 plate, there was very little in the maxidot apart from the trip computer, audio and naviagtion, as well as the vehicle status if any of the doors were open etc. I then upgraded the convenience controller which opened up the convenience menu, but once again not all options that were shown in the handbook were there on the maxidot. However, these came to light when a play with VCDS activated some more options -- once activated in VCDS, the option then appeared on the maxidot, along with the option to switch that option on and off. Examples of these include the CH/LH lights, synchronised mirrors and the central locking/alarm options.

It may just mean that any options that do don't want onneed to be switched on via VCDS to give you the option to switch off again in maxidot.

Hope this makes sense.

Mike

Thanks Mike, thats what I was thinking, things need to be activated to give you the option to used them or not.

To say people rave on about Maxi Dot, apart from the display it doesn't appear to be as good as folk make out.

It seems prity limited to it's functions
